Manthorpe’s
thermal cavity closer provides
a versatile solution to cold bridging
problems. It also saves time in
construction by closing the cavity
without the need to return the
block work.
The closer can be used in individual
lengths, preformed into frames
or fixed directly onto window
and doorframes. Manthorpe’s
cavity closer not only provides
a thermal break to the cavity
but also acts as an effective
vertical damp proof course.

Strong, extremely simple to install and available in a multitude of widths, the Manthorpe Rigid Frame Former combines the function of a dummy timber frame and a thermal cavity closer into one easy to use product.
The Manthorpe Rigid Frame Former is designed to improve efficiency, speed up installation, save man hours and avoid the site clutter you get with dummy timber frames which are prone to damage when left lying around.
It comes in both single and double flange options.
Rigid Frame Former
Product
Code G280
The Manthorpe G280 Rigid Frame Former provides a simple time saving solution to cold bridging problems around window and door reveals. The rigid box design allows the cavity walling to be built up to the frame former without the need of manufacturing dummy window formers.
The Manthorpe G280 Rigid Frame Former not only provides a thermal break to the cavity but also acts as an effective DPC barrier.
The G280 Rigid Frame Former is designed to meet building regulations and achieves the required U value of 0.35w/mk at the reveal of door and window openings when the frames are fixed to allow a 15mm or larger overlap into the cavity.
Single
Flange Rigid
Frame Former
Product
Code G282
The G282 Rigid Frame Former is a single flange version of the G280.
The G282 is suitable for use in rebated
openings where the window frame
is positioned behind the outer
brick leaf.
Rigid Frame Former Assembly Options

Both the G280 and the G282 can be supplied either readily assembled or cut-to-length and flatpacked.
