by today’s energy conscious
society is the build up and effects
of significant levels of condensation
in the roof space.
Condensation is encouraged
by the widespread use of insulating
materials, central heating and
double-glazing. Along with the
reduction in natural ventilation,
the temperature differential
between the dwelling areas and
the cold roof space is increased.
The warm, internal air carrying
high levels of water vapor is
naturally drawn, by the process
of convection, to the cold areas
of the building including the
roof void. Here, if there is
insufficient ventilation, condensation
occurs causing rotting timbers,
rusting and weakening of metal
fixings, felt damage and mould
growth.
Items stored in the loft are
often rendered useless and the
general outcome involves significant
expenditure to rectify the problems.
The Manthorpe six
metre ventilation pack provides
a practical and cost effective
solution to roof ventilation requirements.
The pack contains a six metre
run of Manthorpe over fascia ventilator,
roll panel and felt support trays.
All size vents
provide 10.000mm2 airflow
per unit. To give the equivalent
of a continuous 5mm2 ventilation
for the vents should be placed
at 2m centres, or 1m centres for
continuous 10mm2 ventilation.

The continuous
soffit Ventilator is designed
to provide a solution to roof
ventilation requirements where
a traditional fascia board is
specified. Manufactures in UPVC
section, it is screwed onto the
fascia board and securely supports
the soffit board which is inserted
into the self retaining mouth.
The Manthorpe G825 is designed
to meet ventilation requirements
for flat or pitched roofs below
15°. Fits 4 – 12mm board.

to the problem of eaves ventilation.
Suitable for 400mm, 450mm and
600mm rafter centres. The panel
is suitable for new build situations
while its flexibility makes it
ideal for refurbishments where
rafter centres are often not constant
or unknown. The G502 is a double
width version for use with thicker
insulation and lower pitches.
The cross flow
eaves panel is a rigid vacuum
formed panel designed to provide
the necessary air gap between
the roof felt and loft insulation
enabling the required ventilation
to the roof space. Three sizes
are available to encompass most
of rafter centres.
